A group of college pranksters did not get the last laugh when they decided to prank their neighbors. On a recent Petty Revenge post on Reddit, a poster told of when they came home to find that their neighbors had removed all the furniture, catching them red-handed as they took the last sofa out of the house.

There was no animosity between the two groups as they were all friends and often had fun together, playing pranks and laughing with it all. Needing to rest after a long day, the original poster (OP) told readers that they tackled their neighbor to retrieve a beanbag to sleep on that night and then left them to it.
The next day, when the OP and their roommates were deciding on how to get revenge and also contemplated how much effort the pranksters put in to remove all of the furniture and squeeze it in such a small space. These thoughts led them to get revenge by leaving all of the tables in their neighbors’ homes so they could continue struggling to move around the house.
Taking this approach also meant that there was no hard work to be put in by the victims of the pranks as they waited until the pranksters had enough of their cramped living space and moved the furniture back where it belonged.
The prank got high praise, with one Reddit commentator saying, “Now, this to me is a perfect example of what a practical joke – and response – should be like. Bravo to all involved.” Another person said, “Never pull a prank you don’t make a plan for. Especially when you will end up the b*tt of the joke! “
A lot of people were won over by the simplicity of the pranks, stating, “nowadays it seems people think a great prank would be setting fire to their stuff & filming their reaction. (Then getting mad when their “friends” get upset).” Another reader of the post said, “a perfect example of why minimalism works.”
We have to say that we agree; sometimes, the simplest of ideas get the best laughs, and you do not need to harm people or property to create a good prank. Many seem to agree, with one comment saying, “Finally. A prank that wasn’t outright bullying. “It’s just a prank, bro” it p***es me off every time.”
The pranks led some people to think of how the joke could have been taken even further, adding that the OP “Could have made them bring it all back into your place, and then snuck it all back into their place immediately after.” This is a genius idea!
For other readers, this prank reminded some people of similar stories that had happened to them. One reader spoke of a joke that went in their favor when “My friends pranked me by moving everything out of my bedroom. I was so happy because my room was kind of a mess, and they helped me move everything back in. So they really just cleaned my room and gave me a good laugh.”
This good-natured prank and its reaction led to readers demanding more of it, with one person insisting that “There has to be a sub for wholesome pranks.” We are definitely looking for more wholesome stories like this!
