Summer Break is approaching fast and I know so many Stay-At-Home Moms have mixed feelings this time of year! Sure, having the kids home every day is great but the “I’m bored” and “There’s nothing to do Mom” always seems to start so fast! This list of daily themes is a great way to keep the days fun and filled with exciting activities!
Make-It Monday
This is the perfect day to make new crafts of all kinds during Summer break! Think small like DIY Slime to bigger and better like tie-dyed t shirts/pillowcases/beach towels! If you run out of ideas, Pinterest is a great place for DIY crafts as well as browsing your local craft store! I come up with my best activities when I check out the kids crafts section of my local Hobby Lobby

Try-It Tuesdays
Not to be confused with Monday, this is a day for trying new experiences! Think kids cooking classes, a local obstacle course, or even arranging a scavenger hunt for those inquisitive kids! This is a perfect opportunity to try out a new bakery they’ve never been to, make a recipe they normally wouldn’t eat, or attempt that skateboard trick they’ve been thinking about (Elbow pads and helmets required)! This will give them great stories to tell when they go back to school after summer break!
Wet’N’Wild Wednesdays
What is Summer without water?!? From hooking up the sprinkler to hitting the local waterpark, this day is all about splishing and splashing! So many fun games can be made out of a water day, the fun is endless! Turning the sprinkler into a “drive-thru” carwash for bikes is a classic at our house!

Thoughtful Thursdays
It is so important to keep our kiddos as selfless and helpful as possible. A great way to remind kids how important it is to help others is to take a day each week of the summer to give back! This could be going through their toys and choosing what to donate, baking cookies for an older neighbor who would love a visit, or volunteering at a local soup kitchen or food pantry! Sometimes it is hard for kids to understand what they don’t see and this is a wonderful opportunity to talk about the importance of helping others.
Field Trip Fridays
Although outings are fun any day of the week, planning a special outing for Fridays gives the kids something to look forward! Search the web for local events in your area or free activities for kids. Most places have extended hours for summer and lots of times there are additional free events going on while kids are out of school!
The best thing about this schedule is that it is completely customizable. Each day is just a broad theme to help you invent ideas for how to spend it! You could even switch it up and have 2 different theme schedules to alternate through, week by week. However you and your kiddos spend this summer, make sure you’re making memories and having a blast!
Leave a comment telling us how you have been spending your summer break so far! What great ideas have you and your kids tried this year? Any fun trips? I would love to hear about it!
