“Obviously cost of living is a factor, but that aside, I don’t understand how without years of experience, I’m always seeing posts on Personal Finance or similar subs about how a 23-year-old is debating between a “more stressful” $150,000/year job or an easy $100,000/year job. How?”

“I mean, they can’t all be in high cost of living areas, are they? That would make more sense, I suppose.
But after years of looking through job sites, the common theme is that positions that pay that high all seem to require a minimum of 5 years experience on top of a bachelor’s degree.”

The OP is curious how does a 23 year old have 5 years of experience for a field that requires a degree to even enter?
