About Farah Zeb

Hi there! I’m Farah, a mum of five amazing kids, two of whom have special needs, and yes, we also have a cat named Luna who somehow keeps her cool through all of it.

Life in our house is a beautiful, chaotic, love-filled adventure. One of my children has severe autism, and another has autism and ADHD, which means every single day brings its own unique challenges and its own unique victories. I’ve learned to celebrate both. My family is my world, and this blog exists because I want other parents walking a similar path to know they’re not alone in any of it.

What makes BecauseMomSays a little different is that I’m not just a mum sharing what works for her family. I’m a qualified teacher currently completing my Master’s degree in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion, so when I talk about what helps neurodivergent kids learn, engage, and feel seen, I’m drawing on both years of lived experience at home and a genuine academic understanding of how those children are best supported. The research and the real life live side by side here, and I think that combination is pretty rare.

I also have a background in economics, which has shaped the way I approach everything from problem-solving in our household to making informed decisions about my children’s education and care. It sounds like an unlikely skill for a parenting blog, but thinking clearly under pressure and making the most of limited resources is basically the full-time job description of a special needs parent.

When I’m not deep in coursework, wrangling five kids, or hunting down the perfect free printable, you’ll find me on my motorbike. It’s my freedom, my joy, and my reminder that every woman deserves something that belongs entirely to her. Whether it’s two wheels or a really good cup of tea, find your thing and protect it fiercely.

I started this blog because I couldn’t find the content I actually needed. So I built it. Everything here is created with real families in mind, practical, research-informed, and always honest about the hard days as well as the good ones.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope something here makes your day a little easier, your kid a little happier, and you feel a little more like everything is going to be okay. Because it is.
