The entertainment industry is often associated with glitz and glamour, but it’s not unusual for celebrities to find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Some have even been arrested while filming. Despite their star power, these movie stars were not immune to the outcomes of their actions. Some of them bounced back from their legal woes and continued their careers, while others saw their reputations take a dive. Here are a few examples of celebrities in hot water while on set.
Shia LeBeouf

LeBeouf is becoming infamous for his on-set antics (and by antics, we mean miscreant behavior).
While filming The Peanut Butter Falcon, LeBeouf was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct and made matters worse for himself by resisting arrest and mouthing off at officers.
Vince Vaughn

A bar fight one night while filming the 2001 movie Domestic Disturbance got Vaughn arrested.
While Vaughn was quickly released, the filming was put on hold while co-star Steve Buscemi, who was stabbed during the altercation (not by Vaughn), recovered from his injuries.
Eliza Dushku

The teen flick Bring It On doesn’t seem like the sort of movie to undergo interruptions due to its cast being behind bars, but looks can be deceiving!
While filming in LA, Dushku and several others were arrested for crossing the border into Mexico and getting too merry while partying.
Sean Penn

Penn, who is something of a ruffian at the best of times, was arrested midway through filming the 1988 movie, Colors for punching an extra.
At the time, the actor was on probation for another violent crime. He was imprisoned for two months, disrupting his filming schedule.
Tiffany Haddish

In 2022, funny woman Haddish was arrested under the suspicion of DUI while filming Haunted Mansion.
The fuzz was called when someone reported a woman (Haddish) asleep at the wheel during her night off.
Charlie Sheen

While filming his hit show, Two & A Half Men, Sheen managed to halt the series’ production not once but twice.
In 2009, Sheen was arrested for domestic assault, which caused production delays. That same year, filming had to be paused again while he underwent drug treatment and anger management.
Robert Downey Jr.

Before Robert Downey Jr. was the successful and chiseled Marvel king he is today, the Iron Man actor had a sordid, drug-fuelled past.
The actor was arrested twice while starring in the show Ally McBeal in 2000 for drug-related offenses. This would eventually see him leaving the show to serve jail time.
Josh Brolin

Actor Josh Brolin is known for playing gritty antiheroes and downright meanies in his movies. However, an off-set incident got tongues wagging about his “bad boy” status.
While filming the movie, W., Brolin, and several others got into a bar fight with locals. They were arrested for interfering when police tried to break up the fight.
Alec Baldwin

Baldwin famously pulled the trigger on the movie set Rust, which accidentally got the director of photography fatally wounded.
While the actor wasn’t initially arrested, he has since been charged with involuntary manslaughter, causing further production delays to the movie.
Christopher McDonald

However, the 2013 movie The Squeeze was temporarily halted while McDonald spent a few hours in the slammer for being caught driving while intoxicated.
