The original poster (OP) said that she often gets ignored by men in favor of her friends, which makes her feel insecure. If you think about it, feeling overwhelmed by a noisy bar if that is not your thing, does not give you the best base for feeling confident enough to start a conversation. The woman was advised to go to clubs or places she enjoys going to and is likely to find like-minded people.
Find a New Hobby

There was lots of advice on going to places of interest with activities to complete rather than going to generic places and expecting to meet people randomly. One person says, “If you’re looking for a meaningful connection and the man is also looking for one. Then he will not mind you approaching and letting him know you’re interested in him.”
Make Good Eye Contact

Improve Your Appearance

For example, if she was wanting a purely sexual relationship, then she could try being more overtly sexual and if she was looking for a more long-term connection, then she should wear clothes that she feels would reflect her comfort in this.
