At the same time, if you open your last packet of instant noodles, you will lose your mind when you hear that one cat is worth a whopping $97 million!
However, this is not just any cat. It is Taylor Swift’s cat!
According to All About Cat’s recent survey, Taylor’s cat Olivia Benson was in the world’s top three Most expensive pets, valued at $97 million.
According to an official post, the website says they get their data by “analyzing the Instagrams of pets with the most followers, likes, and engagement rates.” Additionally, Influence Marketing Hub evaluated the cat’s money made through Instagram and other earnings.
The Scottish Fold is an Instagram influencer and scored high-revenue ads such as AT&T and Diet Coke. The website also notes how Olivia Benson had her own merch, significantly increasing her worth.
It is difficult to argue with how cute Olivia Benson so we can see how the whole world fell in love with her when she appeared in Swift’s ‘1989’ and ‘Blank Space’ music videos.
Swifties (the affectionate name for fans of the 33-year-old singer) have liked pictures of the feline beauty over 1 million times and appear to love Olivia just as much as they do Taylor.
Swift got Olivia Benson in 2014, naming her after a Law & Order: SVU character played by Mariska Hargitay, seemingly a favorite of the superstars.
Olivia Benson is not Taylor’s only cat; she has another Scottish Fold, Meredith Grey, and a Ragdoll, Benjamin Button. While all of Tay Tay’s cats are exceptionally attractive, Olivia Benson earns the big bucks!
Pipping Olivia Benson to the post of The World’s Most Expensive Pet was 2nd placed Nala Cat. Estimated to be worth $100 million, and German Shephard Gunther VI, who came in at number one with a staggering $500 million net worth.
Gunther VI is owned by Gunther Corporation, while Nala Cat has notched over 4 million Instagram followers. Behind Olivia Benson was a host of other celebrity pets. Oprah Winfrey’s four cats will inherit $30 million each should they outlive the TV host.
These pampered pooches most certainly get a lot of love from their owners and fans, but we can’t help thinking about what we could do with that money. There are only so many pet toys you can buy, after all.
