Does this potato soup recipe have meat in it?
It does, but it doesn’t have to. That is one ingredient that you can omit if you want to. I’ve actually made this hamburger potato soup recipe a few different ways and it tastes good no matter what.
You can add in beef, ham, or even sausage and it really adds to the flavoring and gives it a little twist every single time. Or, you can go the more vegetarian route and just add in more veggies and leave out the meat – totally up to you!
What toppings would go well with this easy soup recipe?
Soup toppings are the best! I love adding on toppings because then I really get to make the bowl of soup 100% my own.
Some simple soup topping ideas can be:
- Cheese
- Crackers
- French Onions
- Chives
- Cilantro
- Sour Cream
- Fresh or Pickled Jalapenos
And the list could go on and on. Honestly, anything that you want to add to your bowl of soup it up to you and your tastebuds.
The great part about toppings means that you can make one giant pot of soup and then let each person individualize it to what they want.
