Peanut Butter Dip Ingredients

As I mentioned, this dip really doesn’t require much work. There certainly aren’t any crazy or hard to come by ingredients involved so it’s a perfect last minute dish! Aside from maybe some of the candies, I usually have these basic ingredients on hand.

  • 8 ounces of cream cheese
  • 3.9 ounces chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of creamy peanut butter (any brand is fine!)
  • 8 ounces of whipped topping
  • Reese’s Miniatures
  • Reese’s Chips (they are usually near the chocolate chips in the baking aisle)
  • Reese’s Pieces
  • 1 Reese’s Cup

*You can certainly have more than one Reese’s cup on hand, in case you love them as much as I do!

How to Make a Reese’s Dip

There couldn’t be an easier recipe out there for a dessert everyone will love. Sure, cakes and cookies and pies are all great and crowd pleasers. But the time they take to prepare? They take so much more time!

Not all of us think ahead enough to have time for a cake to cool before icing or cookies to rest before we need to jet off to a function. Thankfully, this is a super simple super easy dessert and I am going to give you all the details today!

First, you’ll want to get a large mixing bowl out and add your cream cheese and pudding mix to it. Usually, having the cream cheese softened beforehand by letting it sit at room temperature makes this a bit easier! I like to use a hand mixer to mix the pudding and cream cheese together and it makes the task super easy!

Once this is mixed well, you are going to add in your cup of milk and give it a slight stir. Then, add your peanut butter to this mixture and combine well. Next, fold in your whipped topping. This is typically easiest when using a spatula.

Pour one full cup of your Reese’s chip and one half cup of your Reese’s Pieces into this mixture. You don’t want to break the candies so make sure you mix these carefully. Sprinkle Reese’s miniatures, pieces and chips on top! We use a full size Reese’s cup in the center but you could also chop this up and sprinkle it!

What to Dip in Your Peanut Butter Dip

There are so many options!! If you really want to be hardcore with your sweetness, you could dip Reese’s Peanut Butter cups in this dessert dip!

  • Graham Crackers
  • Apple Slices
  • Oreos
  • Wafer Cookies
  • Pretzels
  • Animal Crackers
  • Butter Cookies
  • Strawberries

How do I Store Peanut Butter Dip?

We definitely recommend storing your peanut butter dip in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve! Since this dessert dip does contain cream cheese and whipped topping, you don’t want to leave it at room temperature overnight or for any extended length of time.

When you are ready to serve, or pig out on leftovers, you’ll want to let the dip sit out at room temp for just a bit before consuming. It won’t hurt you in any way to eat it straight from the fridge but you may suffer from broken cookies or crumbled graham crackers.

The dip does harden as it’s refrigerated, just like cream cheese does, so do keep that in mind when you are pulling this one out!

Making Reese’s Dip With Kids

Since this is such a simple recipe to make, it is a great one to let the kids help in the kitchen! There is really no way to mess this one up and they can add their own creative flare on the top. Whether they want tons of Reese’s Pieces on top or just a couple of Reese’s cups, they can make all the choices with this one!
