Oreo Cookie TrufflesWhen I hear the word truffles, I immediately get excited. There’s just something about popping a bite-sized piece of heaven into your mouth and tasting that chocolate and melted goodness.

I think there’s a reason that they make truffles to be the perfect bite because that is what makes it so simple to just pop them into your mouth. While we tend to make them all year round, they’re actually a great gift to give to someone to show them that you care as well.

Sharing truffles with great conversations sounds like a pretty great day, right? Call it “breaking truffles” with one another or whatever you want, but these Oreo Chocolate Truffles are seriously the best.

Can you freeze Oreo balls?

This is one the best things to do if you find that you have an excess of chocolate truffles. All you need to do is make certain that you have them in a freezer safe container or bag and then put them in the freezer.

Then when you want to eat one or two, you can just grab them right from the container and let them unthaw for a short amount of time.

You can also freeze them in individual bags as well so that you can just have one or two to worry about or grab and take with you on the go. It’s a simple way to practice moderation with sweets while still getting the taste and flavor that you love.

How long does it take for cream cheese to soften?

Make certain that you let the cream cheese soften completely for this recipe. If not, you’re running the risk of having bits and pieces of cream cheese that won’t get mixed into your recipe very well. That happened to me the first time I made these Carrot Cake Cupcakes!

For your cream cheese to soften, you’re going to need to give it at least 1-2 hours. To know if it’s fully softened and ready to go, you should be able to leave an imprint easily with your finger without applying much pressure.

If you’re short on time, you can use these tips to soften cream cheese in the microwave. Again, don’t skimp on this part of the recipe as it’s really important for the texture and outcome.

Is it possible to burn chocolate in the microwave?

This is actually a rather common occurrence when handling chocolate. Since you’re trying to melt the chocolate in intervals in the microwave for this recipe, you need to make certain that you’re paying attention to it closely

Easy Oreo Cookie Truffles

Start by mixing the Oreo crumbs with the cream cheese until well mixed. If you add the cream cheese a bit at a time, it helps when mixing.

Next, you’re going to want to use a cookie scoop to measure out about 1.5 tablespoon of the cookie mixture. Once done, roll each scoop into a ball.

After they’re rolled, you are then going to place the Oreo balls on a baking sheet with wax paper or an otherwise prepared baking sheet.

Oreo balls rolled and sitting on parchment paper prior to being dipped in chocolate.

Take and place them in your freezer and freeze the balls for about 20-30 minutes so you are able to easily dip them into your chocolate.

Once it’s almost time to start dipping, you’re going to want to melt your chocolate. Melt the chocolate in the microwave for about 1 minute 20 seconds. After that time, remove and stir gently until smooth. Keep returning to the microwave in 15 second increments, if needed.

As soon as the chocolate is smooth and ready, dip each ball in the chocolate and place them back on your lined pan. Don’t worry about the excess chocolate drip around them!

Next you’re going to put the white chocolate in a sandwich bag and melt it the same way. Snip a tiny corner of the bag and drizzle over each Oreo truffle.

One done, add a sprinkle of confetti candy hearts if you so choose or other fun sprinkles of your choice.
