OxiClean is a multi-purpose product that can be used to clean many items around the home and in your wardrobe. Once you take a look at the many excellent uses of OxiClean
OxiClean is a staple product in the cleaning cupboards of homes throughout the US. If you want to maintain the white color in clothes and remove stains quickly, then keeping a tub of OxiClean is essential.
Many people think of OxiClean as a strong chemical formula but its main ingredient, sodium percarbonate, is found in many regular laundry detergents. This means that it is less harsh than bleach-based cleaning products and gentler on the skin.
We look at ways that you can use OxiClean around the home, some you may not have heard of before.

OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover

The main active ingredients in this stain remover are sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide which are safe and toxin-free.
11 of The Best Uses for OxiClean
1. Clean Your Bathroom
Format: Paste
One of the top uses for OxiClean is for cleaning bathrooms, particularly baths and sinks. Your bathroom furniture is used heavily and your sink, in particular, can become stained or discolored.
Making up an OxiClean paste to apply to your bath and sink to then be scrubbed down can quickly remove grime and turn them white again. You simply need to allow the paste to soak into your bath and/or sink for a few minutes before gently scrubbing and then rinsing with water.
You can use a microfiber cloth to polish up your bathroom furniture once it is fully clean. You may use a small amount of scrub every time you clean your bathroom or just use a regular spray week to week and then a full OxiClean paste once every few weeks.
2. Clean Your Shower Curtain Liner
Format: Powder
While you focusing on your bathroom and using OxiClean you can use a powder-based cleaner or clean your shower curtain liner. You will notice that your shower curtain quickly gets a build-up of mildew and dirty, often turning orange, and needs to be cleaned regularly.
You can take the shower curtain off the rail and pop it into your washing machine with a scoop of OxiClean laundry powder. Tasing OxiClean cleans away any soap scum or mildew and leaves your curtain smelling as fresh as it looks.
Once you take the curtain out of the washing machine you can hang it back up on the curtain rail to dry.
3. Brighten Grout Lines
Format: Paste
Before we leave the bathroom let’s focus on how Oxiclean paste can clean up grotty grout lines in your bathroom. Like your shower curtain, the grout in your tiles becomes dirty and is prone to mildew which can look and smell nasty.
Make a paste of OxiClean and grab an old toothbrush to apply the paste in between your tiles. Be careful not to press too hard on grout with your toothbrush as it may loosen the grout.
Allow the paste to sit in the grout for 15-20 minutes and then wash down with a clean cloth and rinse with your shower.
4. Make Your Own Laundry Detergent
Format: Powder
OxiClean allows you to make your own laundry detergent. Using the powder keeps clothes and sheets clean, fresh, and smelling beautiful.
The powder works on the toughest of stains and while it is great on whites it works well at maintaining color in brightly colored fabric. Users have said that it can remove stubborn juice, wine, and oil stains, which is high praise indeed.
You can also use OxiClean to make a homemade hand washing detergent for delicate items that cannot be placed in the washing machine.
5. Clean Your Range Hood Filter
Format: Soak
You will likely notice grease on the outside of your oven hood which is normal when it is used daily to cook your food. When you take the filter out of the hood you will notice a whole lot more dirt which is gross but manageable.
You can remove the filter in your cooker hood and soak it in an OxiClean solution, as described earlier, for an hour. You can leave it in your kitchen sink or find a large bowl so it does not get in the way.
6. Clean Garbage Bins
Format: Soak
We all know how smelly your bins get, both the indoor bin and the larger outdoor bins. To get rid of the spills and stains that inevitably overflow from the garbage bags you can fill your bins with an OxiClean solution and allow them to soak for 30 minutes.
Once the solution has been allowed to soak it can be poured down the drain and then rinsed out with warm water using a hose or a bucket.
7. Clean Outdoor Items
Format: Spray
Making up an OxiClean spray means that you can clean almost any surface, including outdoor furniture and storage bins. You can even use it on leisure equipment and other items that are generally left outside of the house that accrues dirt even when covered over.
You can use the spray on smaller areas of your patio or make up a large bucket of OxiClean solution to pour over your patio and brush over it gently. If you clean your patio on a warm day you may need to keep applying the spray as the sun will dry out your initial application.
Once clean, rinse off any trace of OxiClean with your hose pipe.
8. Remove Carpet Stains
Format: Spray
Arguably, one of the most popular uses of OxiClean is to remove carpet and rug stains. An OxiClean spray is ideal for targeting small spots on your carpet or rug which are likely to be an issue if you have children or pets.
You can either spray the solution directly onto the area or use a clean cloth to blot the spray on until it the stain clears and it can be blotted dry. If the stain is still visible you need to repeat the process.
Always test a small area first of all before applying the spray to a carpet that you have not used OxiClean on before. This is to ensure that no damage is caused.
Finish by vacuuming the carpet to remove any remaining dust or dirt.
9. Whiten Canvas Sports Shoes
Format: Soak
If your white canvas sports shoes are looking worse for wear you don’t have to throw them away. Use OxiClean to remove dirt and stains by making up a bucket or sink full of a water solution.
You may need to use a soft brush to gently scrub the shoes but a little elbow grease is much cheaper than a new pair of shoes. Once you have soaked and scrubbed your shoes they should be fully rinsed to remove any traces of Oxiclean.
10. Remove Stickers & Labels
Format: Soak/spray
Using OxiClean to remove stickers and stubborn labels (including on jars that you want to reuse) is a hack that we all wish we knew about sooner. Rather than spend hours peeling off stickers manually you can soak in an OxiClean solution in your sink.
Leave to soak for up to an hour and the labels should quickly come off without any difficulty. If the item you are removing a sticker or label from does not fit in your sink you can make a spray solution and spray the OxiClean onto the item and allow it to soak in.
11. Deodorize Sports Equipment
Format: Soak
You can use OxiClean laundry solution to remove dirt and stains off sports equipment but did you know that it can also be used to get rid of grease and dirt on smelly sports equipment. Your helmets, shin guards, caps, bandages, etc can all be soaked in a bucket made of a water and OxiClean solution.
You can allow the solution to work on the equipment for 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse thoroughly.
OxiClean is a versatile product that, in our opinion, is an essential addition to any home and a product that can be used for a multitude of dirt and stains.
