In our house, Slime is a big deal. This Grinch slime happens to be a family favorite! We use to buy those little slime kits that included everything you needed to make various slimes.
As a busy mom, I always thought that would be the easiest route but I was wrong! Slime kits just don’t seem to make the same great results that we have found we get with homemade, customizable, slime recipes!
One of our favorite times of the year is Christmas so of course, we have to create themed slimes during the holiday season! Making slime is a fun and super easy Christmas activity for kids! This is our favorite Christmas slime we have tried! If you are looking for more Christmas fun, these gingerbread snowman cookies will be a hit!
We all feel a little bit “Grinch-like” once in a while so it’s not hard to relate to the grumpy attitude. We just love the message that the movie teaches, about accepting love and friendship into our hearts! We practice this at home regularly with these positive affirmations for kids constantly being said!

4. (My Favorite step) Mix in LOTS of Glitter. When you think it’s enough, add more to your Christmas slime!
5. Add in 1 tablespoon of the contact solution. Once added, your slime will instantly begin to firm up and become slime.
6. At this point, your slime WILL be sticky. It’s okay, just keep stirring your mixture until your slime really starts to form well.
Then, begin kneading your slime by hand until it is no longer sticky.
7. Add in your heart charm and enjoy your beautiful Grinch Christmas Slime!

how much slime does this make?
Hi Jenifur! This Christmas Grinch slime recipe uses 5 oz of glue and the slime doesn’t grow much from that, so it’s about 5-6 oz total! 🙂
The links to the airtight containers you recommend are not working. Can you fix that or let me know what kind they are so I can search them please? Thanks!
I am so sorry about that! It seems to be working for me, maybe an Amazon glitch! Try it again and if it won’t work, search for Deli Food Storage containers! 🙂
Does the glitter adhere to the slime for the most part? I’m wondering how much glitter trail this will leave behind. I really like the idea of this!
Can you make in the container?
Hey Brooke! Yes, you certainly could make the Grinch slime in the container you store it in. Just be very careful with mixing!
Tried this and it did not work at all. Very disappointed girls.
Hi Chrissy! I am so sorry to hear that the grinch slime didn’t work for you. Slime can be tricky to make but usually if you are facing problems with it turning to slime, adding a bit more contact solution and continuously kneading it helps!
We’ve tripled the recipe and it’s not forming into slime at all. Still every watery. Any tips?
Hi Mila! The best way to counteract an over watery slime is to slowly add more activator. In this case, the activator is the contact solution. Slowly add a bit more, knead for a few minutes, and repeat if needed!

The link to “contact solution” doesn’t work, what is it?? Literally the saline solution that you wash contact lenses with?

Made this and it’s great! I did have to add more contact solution so it wasn’t sticky, but it was great! I also only had about 3 ounces of glue so I cut everything in half, worked great except needing more contact solution. Thanks!
