Super Simple Spring Snack Mix

Time is of the essence when trying to find simple snacks for the kids to eat. While I love the idea of baking up something delicious, the truth is that I don’t always have time.

I’ve found that a recipe that’s easy like this one can be a real lifesaver. It’s not only packed with snack items that kids love but it’s also got some fun treats in there as well.

This simple spring snack mix recipe is going to be a requested one over and over again!

How hard is this trail mix recipe to make?

It’s not hard at all. In fact, it’s so simple, your child can probably make this up entirely on their own. All they’ll have to do is measure out a few simple ingredients and add them to a bowl. That’s it.

There’s no cooking, there’s no baking, and there’s nothing dealing with anything hot at all.

What I love most about this recipe is that it gives me a way to use up some of the Easter candy that the kids “had” to have and aren’t able to eat all of. (and since I don’t need it just sitting around the house either, this is a good way to add a bit of non-candy items to the mix!)

What else could you add to this Easter trail mix?

It’s your recipe, add in whatever you want! Once you see the list of ingredients below, you’ll have a better idea of what else you can add-in. But believe me, the options are endless.

Some other additions to consider are:

  • Shredded Coconut
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Chopped Nuts
  • Raisins

And anything else that your child would love. I have a feeling that once you make this once, your child is going to request some different add-ins all on their own!

How do you store leftover Easter Chex Mix?

The storage process is actually the most important part of this simple Spring snack mix.

With all the added items, you don’t want to take a chance of one of them getting stale. As long as you’re adding it to a container with a lid or a bag with a seal, you should be able to keep it as delicious and crunchy as possible without the worry of it going bad.

And since there aren’t any ingredients in it that need to be put in the fridge, you can store this on the counter or in a bag and take with you as you’re out and about for the day.

What are some fun ways to share this trail mix recipe?

Since this recipe is based on the fact that you’re trying to find ways to use up all that leftover candy, why not share it with others?

Creating it and then bagging some up for your family and friends can be a great way to spread the holiday cheer. You can even put some of the smaller items in Easter eggs and deliver them their very own Easter treats.
