The sky is the limit when it comes to toppings. And go ahead and think outside the box! You can make these oven-baked French fries spicy or regular, whatever your taste buds need and want. Add all the seasoned salt, or regular salt and pepper you desire.

Fresh jalapeños are always a fun topping but be ready for the heat. Some of them are really spicy and can be quite shocking to the tastebuds!

Tips for making these Loaded Steak Fries

It’s my simple belief that you can never have too many toppings for this recipe. I love adding in extra cheese and having some with each and every bite.

Make certain to give your potatoes a good scrub as well to get rid of all the dirt and grime. The outside skin really will crisp up and it tastes so good as long as you’re getting off all the dirt!

Don’t forget to follow up with a delicious dessert or simple treat! After you carb up on these oven-baked fries, you’re going to be craving something totally sweet.

How do you make Loaded Steak Fries?

Get ready to fall in love with this recipe! Just gather up the ingredients below to get started:

  • 4 medium-sized russet or Yukon potatoes
  • ½ cup Bacon bits
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 sliced fresh green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon finely cracked pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How to make Loaded French Fries

Start by preheating your oven to 425 degrees. Then, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and go ahead and put it to the side.

Next, go ahead and wash and slice your potatoes into long fry shapes. You can leave the outer peel on or off, it’s totally up to you.

This is my absolute favorite tool for slicing potatoes!

Grab a large bowl and place the potato slices in it, then drizzle the olive oil over all of the potatoes and make certain that they’re covered.

Stir the potatoes to get them completely covered in oil.

Once that is done, take and sprinkle all of the seasonings over the cut potatoes.

Next, stir the potatoes to ensure they are all covered with the seasoning completely.

After that is done, spread the potatoes over the prepared baking sheet making certain that they’re in a single layer.

Put them in the oven for 25 minutes.

Once the timer is up, carefully remove from the oven and test for doneness by mashing one fry. If the fry you test is easily squished, (like a fry), they’re done!

Remove the entire pan from the oven and cover with the cheese and bacon bits.

Then, go ahead and top with sour cream or ranch dressing, as desired (or any other toppings, too!).
